MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
As the mechanical engineer at Feynman Aerospace, you will have the opportunity to utilize your knowledge, experience, and creativity to develop, implement and optimize the design process and analysis for key sub-assemblies and components.

RESPONSIBILITIES:​

Implement new designs and think creatively to resolve and challenge conflicting requirements.

Optimize existing requirements, approaches and processes based on measurement or test data.

Develop, demonstrate and drive to completion innovative design processes.

Work with an extremely fast paced environment and adapt to evolving design and production challenges
-
Drive design and process changes that support program goals, through demonstration of feasibility
-
Work closely with design/development engineers and fabrications shops (internal and external) to get parts built and assembled
-
Assist with design, analysis, and integration of subassemblies to resolve off-nominal non-conformance and develop sustainable repair procedures
-
Resolve recurring design discrepancies and interface with analytics team to implement corrective actions.

Interface with production technician, engineering team and leadership on a daily basis.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
-
1+ years of experience in product design, development, fabrication, assembly, and/or test (internship experience qualifies)

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
-
Expertise in design for manufacturability and design for assembly, successfully taking products through development, testing, and production.

Experience in software skills like Solidworks, Ansys, Catia.

Experience with hardware test methodologies including structural testing and nondestructive evaluation (NDE)

Experience with welded assemblies and aerospace alloys (aluminum, titanium, stainless steels, Inconel, niobium)

Experience in a medium/high-volume production environment within the aerospace industry

Ability to work in dynamic team environment
